Sedimentology, Stratigraphy and Palaeobiology, 10 hp (10 ECTS-credits)

Sedimentary rocks and fossils comprise the archive out of which we can read about the history of the Earth and its life. The course examines aspects such as sedimentary processes, facies analysis and the interpretation of depositional environments. In addition it includes basin analysis and the interpretation of biostratigraphy and sequence stratigraphy, and short history of the Earth through geological time. The course includes the field excursion on Bornholm (1 week) and practical project based on studies by student groups. Further information
